Remembering Ross Williams
31st August 2021
I was saddened to hear of the passing of Ross Williams, with whom we had the pleasure of working over a number of years.
Ross was a dedicated owner-breeder with a real passion for the thoroughbred and an impressive understanding of genetics. His approach to breeding was precise, qunatitative, thoughtful and considered, and it was rewarding to work alongside someone who had such a clear vision of what he wanted to achieve.
Racing under the Superhorse Syndicate banner, Ross enjoyed some outstanding success, including Angel Of Truth winning the 2019 Australian Derby and Archedemus taking The Gong in 2020.
What stood out about Ross was his quiet and focussed determination. He understood that producing successful racehorses was a team effort and we valued the opportunity to play our part in helping him achieve his ambitions.
Ross made a lasting contribution to Australian racing and breeding, and it was a privilege to have worked with him. He was also a friend and he will be sadly missed, and our condolences go to his family and all those who shared his passion for the horse.
